ZenithSolar products have been designed to meet IEC 62108 - International Electrotechnical Commission Standard for Concentrator Photovoltaic modules and assemblies and has an expected operating life of 20+ years in the field.
The object of IEC is to promote international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications and Guides. IEC collaborates closely with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in accordance with conditions determined by agreement between the two organizations. The formal decisions or agreements of IEC on technical matters express, as nearly as possible, an international consensus of opinion on the relevant subjects since each technical committee has representation from all interested IEC National Committees.
IEC 62108 specifies the minimum requirements for the design qualification and type approval of terrestrial concentrator photovoltaic modules and assemblies suitable for long-term operation in general open-air climates. IEC 62108 determines the electrical, mechanical, and thermal characteristics of the CPV modules and assemblies and shows that the CPV modules and assemblies are capable of withstanding prolonged exposure through advanced aging environmental chamber testing, structural robustness testing, temperature, humidity and photovoltaic durability/characteristics testing, performance testing, energy rating and calibration.
The object of this test sequence is to determine the electrical and thermal characteristics of the module and to show, as far as is possible within reasonable constraints of cost and time, that the module is capable of withstanding prolonged application in the field. The actual lifetime expectancy of modules so qualified will depend on their design, their environment and the conditions under which they are operated.
ZenithSolar production, assembly and manufacturing facilities have been set up in accordance with ZenithSolar Quality Operating System comprised of six organizational processes:
1. Engineering Best Practices including FMEA & DVP
2. Product Design Review and Approval
3. Supplier qualification and incoming parts and systems inspections 
4. Individual assembly and complete unit performance certification test
5. In field assembly/operational verification
6. Operational performance evaluation reporting and on-going product improvement/enhancement.
